Job Summary & Mission
As a Prep Cook at BOPOMOFO CAFE, you play a key role in delivering high-quality experiences by expertly preparing ingredients and ensuring smooth food and beverage service. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing beverage ingredients, cooking boba to perfection, and, for locations with a featured food menu, handling food items following safety and quality guidelines. This includes receiving shipments from our commissary kitchen, firing food to order, and upholding strict food handling procedures to maintain our high standards.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Precisely prepares ingredients for beverages, ensuring they meet BOPOMOFO CAFE’s standards for freshness and quality.
Cooks boba to exact specifications, consistently monitoring quality to maintain an exceptional beverage experience.
For locations with a food menu, handles all food items with care, firing dishes to order while maintaining a focus on quality, accuracy, and presentation.
Safely receives and stores food shipments from the commissary kitchen, maintaining proper labeling, rotation, and storage practices to ensure freshness and adherence to health regulations.
Adheres to and executes opening, midday, and closing procedures to ensure smooth and efficient store operations during all phases of the day.
Follows all food handling, safety, and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant working environment.
Ensures prep areas, cooking equipment, and storage spaces are organized and sanitized, adhering to cleanliness standards throughout every shift.
Monitors ingredient and supply levels, communicating any shortages to management to support efficient operations and prevent delays.
Works closely with baristas, shift leaders, and management to ensure smooth and timely service, maintaining open communication and team-focused approach.
Summary of Experience
Prep cook or food handling experience in a Food & Beverage Retail environment - 0-1 Year

Subject to cleaning chemicals, heat, moisture, steam, humidity, open flames, cooking odors, refrigeration/freezer temperatures, loud noise and wet floors.
